The takeaways about gifted children are well-trodden, the plot twists hardly twisty. For a film with a custody case at the heart of its plot, Gifted is surprisingly inert. Its a pity the messy script doesnt live up Graces her gifts. Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy - his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) in a coastal town in Florida.
